Welcome to SAB!

Sorry for being a slacker lately!  But, I'm back and have several new things to show you!  First off, I had my first stamp club meeting tonight!  It was soooooo fun!  Everyone was pumped about Sale-A-Bration.  Are you?

I knew I had a few beginner stampers in club this year so I made sure to have some doable cards for those who didn't have too much stuff yet.  Even for us seasoned stampers, a nice, easy (CAS-clean and simple) card is necessary!  If you are a demo, when you are in Stampin' Connection, when you are doing a search, add CAS to your search and some simple cards will come up.

I was trying to pick cards that didn't involve the big shot.  It ended up that everyone who came had a big shot or another machine that was compatible with the BS.  Man...if you don't have one...

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Fresh Vintage (SAB), fabulous phrases
Paper: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, White
Ink: Calypso coral
Tools, dotted scallop ribbon border punch, hole punch, paper snips
Accessories: dimensionals, everyday enchantment brad bundle (SAB)

My first guest blog!

Well, this is very exciting for me!  My dear old KD sorority sister invited me to do a guest blog on her blog called Life For Dessert.  Logan is a hilarious writer of all kinds of things.  I'm so focused in my little crafting world, that I forget all the other great fun things about life out there!

Click here to see my guest post and enter to win a free stamp set and coordinating heart sweet treat cups.  Here are the projects I shared with her audience.  I will have tutorials for a few of these things hopefully by Friday :)  We have the stomach bug around here :(

Please check out Logan's site!  I appreciate her so much!
Inky Hugs.
PS...Less than 1 week until Sale-A-Bration starts!

Checkbook Cover

So, this is an oldie but a goodie.  I'm always looking for things to stamp on.  I feel I can share this with you b/c they don't sell the same things we do.  They have a great selection of neat things for us to stamp on.  Stamponthis.com.  I used to buy all my memo cubes from them.  I just found out they aren't selling them anymore and neither is Oriental Trading.  If you know where I can find some, please let me know asap :)

I got this checkbook cover from them several years ago and just used it as a door prize at my last workshop.
Supplies: (mostly all retired)
Stamp Set: Things I love
Ink: Melon Mambo, Early Espresso, Taken with Teal
Paper: Taken with Teal, Melon Mambo, White
Tools: 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" circle punches (did you get yours from the clearance blitz?)

I miss Spice Cake already

So, I had a workshop on December 29th.  This was my last push for Holiday mini products.  The Spice Cake Suite will always be near and dear to my heart.  Isn't that ridiculous? :)  Here is my spice cake take on one of my Christmas Lodge cards from October seen here.  I didn't take a picture of it, but the spice cake card was put on one of our recordable cards.  I recorded myself singing HB to my sister.  It's a really neat idea.  Send it using one of our padded envelopes.

Ink: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz

Baby Prints

There are some sets that you just need to have for emergencies.  That is how I feel about this new stamp set.  We used to sell a stamp set with baby prints, but they retired it.  I guess they figured out I needed it back.  Here is the set from the current Occasions Mini.
Baby Prints - Clear-Mount Stamp
There is just something sweet about the little prints.  I've had several babies born in my life in the last 2 months so I had to get on the ball.  Here's what I came up with.  One for a boy and one for a girl.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Baby Prints (Occassions mini), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Everyday Enchantment (SAB)
Ink: Pool Party or Calypso Coral
Tools: Big Shot, Stripes Embossing Folder, scallop border punch, corner rounder, 1/6" hole punch, word window, modern label punch
Accessories: Designer In color brads, lucky limeade or pool party ruffled ribbon, dimensionals
One other thing I wanted to share with you about this card.  There are some of you out there asking how people come up with these ideas.  I knew I needed to make a baby card, but I didn't know where to start.  Here's how I did it.  Have you ever used a template.  If you've looked at my blog, I have a button at the bottom for Mojo Monday.  When I had more time, I used to play along.  You should try if you have the time.  I went to their site, and clicked on 2011 Sketches.  There is a 2010 section too.  Lots to choose from.  I knew which stamp set I wanted to use and what colors I wanted to use.  I chose this layout to work from.

It's just meant to get your creative juices flowing.  I saw this and did what I could.  It's not the best card I've produced, but I save a lot of fingernails by using suggested templates already out there.  Don't reinvent the wheel if you don't have to :)

That is my lesson for the day.  Maybe you could play along next monday.  Good Luck!

Telescoping Snowman

I posted a telescoping snowman last month, but I just saw the Cadillac version of the very same card and HAD to do it.  A new hostess of mine loves snowmen so I did this for her.  I got this from Inking Idaho.  Click here for all the directions.

Supplies that are different from the Christmas version: Cherry Cobbler and Blushing Bride, new pleated blushing bride ribbon, gold brads and our Delightful Dozen stamp set :)

As you can see, I did mine for Valentine's Day because Christmas was already over.  In the south where I am, snow doesn't usually come til after Christmas so I thought this was fitting.

Sometimes the Wrapping is the best part!

Well, not the best bag in the world, but with a pretty light pink piece of tissue paper sticking out the top, I was very proud to pass this on to my son's teacher!  And, the flower on the front is one of my fabric broaches with the pin already on it!  Functional packaging :)  Just used a kraft bag from the craft store :)
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Fresh Vintage (SAB)
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Paper: Twitterpated DSP (OM)
Tools: Lace Border Punch, eyelet border punch, fun flowers die, big shot, mat pack, paper piercing tool
Accessories: Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon, sticky strip, Twitterpated Designer Series Fabric and antique brads

2nd Part of Teacher's Gift

Here is a fun memo cube I stamped on to match her journal.  You can get these cubes at Oriental Trading or Stamponthis.com.  Correction.  Neither of these places sell them anymore.  I can't find them anywhere now :(

Supplies
Stamp Set: FreshVintage (SAB)
Ink: Pool Party, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Blushing Bride Ribbon, cellobag

And to complement the cube, I had to make a microbead pen to match.

These are so fun to make and they really do have a WOW factor.  Here is a tutorial from Splitcoast that will show you how to make those.  Have you noticed I haven't done a video in a long time?  No reason to reinvent the wheel.  If it's already out there...I'm gunna find it :)  Time is precious around here :)

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Fresh Vintage (SAB)
Avery Mailing Label (1.25"x 3.25")
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Sticky Strip, microbeads, Powder pal, Blushing Bride ribbon

Personalized Journal

This gift was a three part gift for my son's Kindergarten teacher.  This was using supplies from the Occasions Mini Catalog that are already available!  It's another personalized journal similar to the one I did several months ago.  Can you spot the new products?
Supplies:
Paper: Twitterpated DSP, White, Riding Hood Red
Tools: Big Shot, lower case letter die, top note die, lace border punch, eyelet border punch, boho blossoms punch, simply scored tool, 2-3/8" scallop circle punch
Accessories: Blushing Bride Pleated Satin ribbon, Twitterpated Designer buttons

Click here to see a tutorial on how to make this lace border punch flower.  I should have made a white flower...the designer paper one just didn't look just like I wanted it to...but glue really sticks!
