Annual Project

Every year I make a desk calendar for my mom to display in her kitchen.  It is always a labor of love.  This is the one I did for her last year and am hoping to get my act together to have a class on this before Christmas. You can get these fun scrapbooks on our clearance rack for $4.
Days-To-Remember Calendar 6X6 - by Stampin' Up!
Here is what I made.

Can you tell why she asks for one every year?  Did you know you could do this digitally too?
MDS has a calendar option!

5 seconds of fame

My son loves that I have a blog on the internet.  When you're that little, being on the internet seems like being a rock star.  It's fine that he thinks that.  So, I bought him the Design House off the clearance rack for $2.50 and he had so much fun decorating it.  Just think how much fun it would be when your attention span is a little longer than a flea :)  My son is 6 :)  He asked if I would please put his house on the internet.  Here is his 5 seconds of fame!

My fingers are still green every time I pick it up.

Popcorn anyone?

So, my little Cub Scout went door to door selling popcorn for his den.  He did an amazing job and sold over $700 of popcorn.  I have really wanted to get my business more known in my n'hood so I thought I would take this opportunity.  I made little thank yous for each friend who bought popcorn.  Hopefully they will visit my site and come stamp with me.  This is just a 3x3 note card.  Can you tell what shape the popcorn is?  It's the framelit that cuts out the steam in the holiday ornament framelit set.  I sponged the edges with summer starfruit.  I still don't like that color as a whole, but it sure has been good for a few things.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Wacky Wishes
Ink: Espresso, Summer Starfruit
Tools: Big Shot, holiday ornament framelits
Accessories: dauber, dimensional

Fall Fun

Ok, I only have one tip for you on this card.  I love the frame embossing folders, but for this one, make sure you use tab 2.  Have both tabs open on the accessory pad.  Otherwise, the outline of the folder itself will show up and ruin your card.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Curly Cute, Gently Falling
Paper: vanilla, cajun craze
Ink: cajun craze, espresso
Tools: Big Shot, frame embossing folder
Accessories: linen thread, dimensionals, basic pearls, crochet ribbon

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here are the last of my fall cards.  As you already know, I love when a holiday comes to an end.  That means I get to start making cards for the next holiday.  I counted over 130 Christmas cards that I have made since July...and there is still one more month that you guys will want to see more Christmas.  I'll be first to buy during the preorder for the spring mini.  I've been thinking about Christmas for over 5 months.  My friends think I am crazy.  At least my non-stamping friends :)

Used the Spritzer tool to add the little flecks.

I got this from Lynn Pratt.  Click here to go to her awesome blog and download the template to make this cute card.

$50 product bonus!

Ok, have you ever thought you'd love to get a discount on all the products you buy from me?  or another demonstrator?  Think about it this way.  Want SU! stuff for Christmas?
IN NOVEMBER ONLY, for $99, you will get $125 of SU! product...anything you want...an entire color family worth of ink pads worth $50, $60 of business supplies including a box of 8 catalogs, and a $50 product bonus from me (anything you'd like).

You say...I don't want to do what you do.  I say, you don't have to.  If you join in November, you have 5 months.(Dec-Apr 30th) to try it out.  If you decide you don't want to continue by then, you just drop off and you get to keep all that stuff. You don't even have to do parties.  I have women asking friends or family for the $100 for Christmas just to get this stuff with the intention of never doing anything with it.  I'm ok with that.  I may change your mind in the process, but it's a totally valid plan.

If you are interested in pursuing this, please email me and I would love to help you earn all this free stuff!  Merry Christmas to you!!

And for reading all this, here is your card for the day.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Evergreen, Curly Cute
Paper: White
Ink: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler

This is the stampin' off technique.  Just ink up a stamp and keep stamping w/o reinking.  Great effect!

Classy Ornament

I have seen lots of cards done with a ribbon technique like this one.  It was easy, but a little time consuming.  Probably don't want to make too many of these.  Just realized it's missing a pearl :)  I punch a circle of silver paper and adhered it behind the frame.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: More Merry Messages
Ink: versamark
Paper: White, silver glitter paper
Tools: Big Shot, ornament keepsakes framelits, 1" circle punch, heat tool, simply scored
Accessories: white ribbon, basic pearls, silver embossing powder

Don't forget about the Online Extravaganza.  If you have ever wanted the Big Shot, check out the sale on it today and today only!!  Then click on the picture of Shelly and see what else is on sale!!  And then..click here to go to my website to order right away...It will arrive by Christmas!

See the Snowflakes?

I must say I didn't do a very good job on this card, but I did feel like the idea was strong enough to share :)  This is one of the snowflakes from the snowflake soiree set.  I drew a circle with a pencil as a template, but it looks more like a heart than a circle.  Still cool effect and quick card.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Snowflake Soiree
Ink: Garden Green, Real Red
Paper: Real Red, white
Accessories: real red ribbon, basic rhinestones, glue dots

Twisted Birthday Card

I really enjoyed making this card at club last month.  We did face some challenges, but most worked it out in the end.  Click here to view the tutorial on this technique.  Stampwithbrian.com is a GREAT blog.  He is a new demo, but is on fire and has something new everyday.  I am very impressed with him.  Subscribe and you'll be happy.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Wacky Wishes, Embellished Events
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, so saffron, baja breeze, tangerine tango
Paper: white, rich razzleberry, Floral District DSP
Tools: Decorative label punch, 2.5" circle punch
Accessories: basic rhinestones, dimensionals

The one area I must warn you about has to do with the second step of cutting the DSP.  We aren't quite sure, but we think if you cut the card from left to bottom right, you must do the same direction with the dsp..you'll have to play around with it.  If you do it and can't figure out what you did wrong...join the club.  Any help on this would be great!

PS.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but it looks just like the outside.  Perfect little slot to put money or a gift card :)

Move Over Elvis

So, I think I have shared with you the Rock and Roll technique, but here is another example of how easy it is.  I stamped the large leaf with more mustard.  Then I took it and rolled just the edges around in the cajun craze color.  You can also use a dauber to get an even cooler effect.

Ink: More Mustard, Cajun Crazy, Early Espresso
Paper: Espresso, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla

Pink Glitter Paper?

So I saw this in our monthly magazine.  Did you look at it on yesterday's post?  I saw that you can color the silver glitter paper any color you want.  So, I had to try it.  I originally had a real red background and used Real Red Ink with a dauber on the silver glitter paper.  Well, as you can see, it didn't turn out to be red.  It turned out pink.  I had to change my card base.  So, moral of the story...you might have to play around with the colors to find what you like.  When you use the dauber, I would suggest using the heat tool to set the ink.  It gets all over your fingers if you don't set it first :)

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Tiny Tags
Ink: Real Red (but ended up pink), basic black
Paper: Pretty in Pink, White, silver glitter paper
Tools: Big Shot, wreath embossing folder, ornament keepsakes framelits, corner rounder punch, scallop trim border punch
Accessories: regal rose 1/8" ribbon, mini brads, glue dots, dimensionals

Also, I told you the new paper cutter is available, but I have seen it and I LOVE IT!!  Here is a great video sharing all the benefits of buying this cutter.  I can't wait to own it!
