Christmas Card Club #3

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Tags Til Christmas, Stylin' Snowfolk
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, White, Be of good Cheer DSP
Ink: Stazon Black*, gumball green, cherry cobbler, pumpkin pie
Tools: Big Shot, square scallop die, square scallop punch, 1" square punch, 1-1/4" circle punch

*Apparently there have been problems with the new formula of black ink.  It seems to be too slick to stamp on white and vanilla.  They are currently working on a new formula as fast as possible.  In the meantime, we are suggesting you use our stazon black pad for all your black ink needs :)  I would also suggest our stazon cleaner to clean your stamps :)

Christmas Card Club #2

One thing I forgot to mention yesterday is a change in the Christmas Card Club rewards.  Everyone who attended the class yesterday got a punch card with a place to punch all 6 classes this fall.  For each person who comes to all 6 classes, they will receive $25 of product in December, 5 classes will receive $15 and 4 classes will get $5.  So, strive to make all of them, but even if you can't, you still have a chance to get some free stuff in December :)  So, plan on coming to the next one on August 18th.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Embellished Events
Ink: Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler (SU's Christmas Colors this year)
Paper: White, Gumball Green, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Tools: Big Shot, Perfect Polka dots embossing folder, top note die, 1-3/4" circle punch, 1/16" hole punch
Accessories: dimensionals, basic pearls, cherry cobbler baker's twine, gumball green stitched ribbon

This is the Bargello Technique and I think it's really cool.  Click here to see Mary Fish showing you how to do it.  I don't reinvent the wheel, remember?

Christmas Card Club #1

Ok, I got a little chastised this week by one of the sweetest people!  She said, "You're not posting everyday!  I need it!"  She's right and here I am at 5am Sunday morning getting the week ready :)  Love you Sandra!

We had our first Christmas Card Club yesterday and I had a blast.  As usual, I made the cards too involved and they took a while.  I promise next month will be a lot easier :)  I just have a hard time making cute cards that are quick, but still impressive...personal problem :)

Here is my favorite.  I can't believe I have been a demo for 8.5 years and I am just now getting Lovely As A Tree!  I am in Love!!  This is a masking technique just like the tree one I did last Tuesday.  I just used post it notes to mask at 1" and 3.25".  Then I sponged with the new Midnight Muse.  Do you have it yet?  Gorgeous!!!  Then I used versamark to stamp my image and then embossed with white powder.  Then stamped the greeting at the bottom. Easy Peasy!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Lovely As A Tree, More Merry Messages
Ink: Midnight Muse, Versamark
Tools: Heat Tool, sponge, Powder Pal (retired...no idea why!)
Accessories: white embossing power, post it notes

PS...Be looking for more information about the Huntsville Holiday Blast this week!

Wow'd Myself

I know there must be that technique that intimidates all of us somewhere.  This might be one of the top ones for me.  I don't consider myself to be an artist, the paintbrush kind.  I did find this somewhere and thought I would try it.  It was so easy that I had my club do it and they all did awesome!!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Lovely As A Tree, Word Play
Paper: Wild Wasabi, White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, So Saffron, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze
Accessories: post it notes, sponge daubers

All I did was use large post it notes to mask the part I wanted to sponge.  Then, I just sponged back and forth to get the color I wanted.  The next time I do it, I'll use a sponge instead of a dauber.  It will give a softer effect.  The dauber was used at the base of the tree too and I didn't just love that.  Just color the "sky" and then stamp the trees over it!  Isn't that beautiful?
