A paper swallotail vs. A digital swallowtail

Over the last few weeks, I have added several new customers to my stampin' world.  These women are my digital girls.  So, how do I keep everyone happy and not neglect anyone :)?  Double the duty...kinda.  Here is a card we made at my swallowtail card class a few months ago and then check out  the digital version.

I wanted to do something a little different with the digital card.  In the beginning, I made it to look identical to the paper version.  But I thought, "What advantage do I have using MDS on this card versus the paper?"  I could make the greeting larger and shadowed.  I like the outcome.  I added some shadowing to those words so it wouldn't blend into the white of the swallowtail.  Benefits of having a paper cutter?  I could stamp the butterfly image and then cut it to the size I wanted.  With the digital, I had to create little pieces of white and crumb to cover up the swallowtail that was running off the side.  There must be an easier way.  Anyone know how?

Craft Room Organization

I've been itching to try a few new things in my craft room.  I finally took the plunge and bought the supplies.

This was the screen door that was on our porch when we moved in.  At the bottom is a doggy door, but we don't have a doggy.  I needed more room to put announcements and card samples.  I hung the door on the wall and traced the inside edges with a pencil.  Then I painted it with a magnetic primer and then with chalkboard paint.  You can't tell in this picture, but the chalkboard is coffee color instead of black.  Cool, huh?  I've enjoyed it a lot.  I'm using chalk markers that I got at michaels.  No chalk mess.

It's fun to be able to display a project and then tell a little about it in writing.

Designer Typeset

Here is the last Designer Typeset card I showed my club last week.  The coolest thing about this set is the pennant stamp is flexible!  You can tell that from the image.

MDS Display

So, I'm getting geared up to start some MDS technique classes this summer and needed a place to display the types of print projects.  I got this new piece of furniture from my FIL who is moving.  I think it works perfectly!

I ordered the MDS sample kit from SU!.  Everything fits great!

I will admit that I wasn't blown away with the actual stamps in the Designer Typeset Stamp Set.  But, how many times have you heard me say that and then I see something that another artist did and my mind was immediately changed?  More often than I'd like to admit :)  Here's another one..
