We Is Smart
My husband is on a trivia team and they advanced enough to compete in the SE regionals in MS. I used MDS to create a logo using their team name. I know they all thought it was cheesy, but they all wore them during the competition and I appreciated it. MDS can be used for so many things!

Last Christmas Card
As I've told lots of people, this time of year is the hardest for me. Everyone else is just getting their stamps so the ideas just aren't out there yet. So, I had to come up with my own this time. Whenever I need to get inspired, I go to Mojo Monday to find a sketch I like. I chose this one.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Calm Christmas
Paper: White, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate,
Winter Frost DSP paper stack
Ink: Bermuda Bay, versamark
Tools: Big Shot, lattice die, bird punch, scallop border punch, heat tool
Accessories: silver embossing powder, silver ribbon, basic pearls and rhinestones, dimensionals

Christmas Card #3
I cased this card directly from the Holiday Catalog.
Tips: This image is actually 2 stamps put together on the same block. I trimmed the top of the word stamp and the bottom of the star stamp so they would ink closer together on the card. They still stamp perfectly on their own. We inked the Merry Christmas with the Navy Marker on a scrap piece of paper. We cut it out and put it on with dimensionals.

Ink: Smoky Slate, Night of Navy
Paper: Textured Smoky Slate, Night of Navy and White
Tools: Dotted scallop ribbon border punch
Accessories: silver ribbon, rhinestones, dimensionals

Christmas Card #2
Here is another card we made last weekend at my Christmas Card Class. My classes are the 3rd Sunday of each month. Let me know if you'd like an invitation :) If you noticed, the oval is not totally centered. I'm trying to get out of my little symmetric box. I know that will drive some people CRAZY!!

And, as an added bonus, here is a card we made at my first Christmas Card Class of the season. These cards are not for the weary. Just not how I roll :( It's a disease. I also made this card for a national swap I participated in this month. 22 of these bad boys :) Kimmy inspired the ornament, but I actually did the rest myself :)

Tools: Big Shot, stripes embossing folder, ornament keepsakes framelits, distressing tool, sanding tool, dauber
Accessories: natural ribbon, Christmas washi tape, dimensionals
TECHNIQUE ALERT!
The girls learned a few new things making this card. The distressing tool is awesome for roughing up your cards. It adds that weathered look that I'm really digging right now.
It also uses the Direct to Paper technique. It's exactly what it sounds like. Just take the ink pad and use it directly on the cardstock. No need for sponges or daubers. Good for times when precision is not necessary.
The other technique was inking the embossing folder. If you've seen previous posts about this method, I used the brayer. This time it was direct to folder with the ink pad. I just rubbed inside the folder for a more weathered look. This one took a while, but everyone seemed to be happy with their final product!

It's time for Christmas Club
Announcing my August Christmas Card Club
It's that time again! We missed Christmas in July so we're actually late :)
I plan to do Christmas Club the same way as last year.
We will meet the 3rd Sunday of each month through November. We will make 12 cards each month, 3 of each design. Each class will be $30 with an option to buy the highlighted products at 20% off after the class.
As a bonus, you will receive a club card at your first class. For each class you attend, you will get a $5 credit towards an order after the last class in November.
Please consider inviting a friend to these classes. I love to meet your friends. They are always as sweet as you are.
I will need RSVPs for this class by this Wed the 7th at noon. Sorry for the short notice, but I'll be out of town that whole weekend and I have to get started earlier than usual.
Please bring your adhesive and scissors. I hope you have been anticipating the return of this club. It's just so nice to have them done in plenty of time :)
