I think I deserve it!

I hope you have enjoyed all the little special touches I added to the baby shower.  I did do something a little unconventional.  So, I'm always trying to think of ways to advertise or introduce SU! to one more person.  I decided to set up a table at the shower where each lady can make a thank you card for the mommy-to-be.  So, everyone gets hands-on with the product and the guest of honor gets thank you cards to take home with her.  I will also have each lady write her address on it and I'll have stamps on it.  I know...I'm so generous :)

I tried to make a simple card, but, like I've always said, I have a disease and can't do it.  Was that a run on sentence mom?  Here is what I came up with .
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Swirls and Curls Verses (current summer mini)
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso, pretty in pink marker
Tools: Big Shot, Beautiful Butterfly bigz die, perfect polka dot embossing folder
Accessories: dimensionals, thread, sponge dauber, rhinestones (can't see it, but it's in the middle of the flower over the words)

So, not my favorite card and as I look at it, I think I'll pass on the sponging.

But, I think Laura will like them and I hope to get at least 1 new customer from all this I've done this week.

Remember, only 4 more days til the new catty is online!  I have 2 sheets of wishlists for this one.  The most I can ever remember!  I can't wait to share it with you!

Check out the link to the side to see the retiring products.

Inky Hugs!

Baby Banner

Well, I ran out of items to put on the diaper cakes so I went to the pennant.  This die is one of the great ones that is retiring next Thursday :(  It's not one you would use all the time, but it's great to have at short notice like I did.  I also use the larger pennant to make tball pennants for Drew's tball team.  They LOVE them!
Supplies:
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Tools: Big Shot, Serif Essentials Alphabet Die, Pennant Die, Crop-a-dile
Accessories: 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon, adhesive

Here is a closeup of how I assembled it.
The Pennant Die is retiring and ON SALE!  It was originally ~$40, but now it is on sale for ~$30.  I think it's worth it especially if you like making things for others.
I could have done so much more with this, but had too many projects to make them all as spectacular as I would have liked :)

I'll show you the party favors tomorrow :)
Good Night!

New Catalog comes out July 1st!

I am super excited to share the new catalog with you!  It will become live a week from tomorrow so all I can show you right now is the cover.  Isn't it beautiful??
I have 2 boxes arriving at my house tomorrow, June 24th.  After my stampin club gets their free copies and of course, my momma, I have 9 catalogs ready for the taking.  If you respond to me that you want one before they go live on the 1st, you may have your catalog for $5.  After July 1st, they are $10.  So, act now :)

Also, if you would be willing to take a copy of the current catty to share with a friend, or drop off at your hairdresser's or doctor's office, I would really appreciate it and I have a special treat for you at the first camp in August :)

I'm getting all excited about the new products.  Pennants and Pinwheels seem to steal the stage along with doilies and lace.  Not usually my cup of tea, but I have seen some great things done with these products so far!

Today I am working on a pennant for the baby shower on Sunday.  We'll see how that goes :)

Inky hugs to you all!

Diaper Cake

I'm sure by now, everyone has heard of a diaper cake.  I am having a baby shower for my friend this weekend and this is one of 4 cakes I will make to be table centerpieces.  This one is the medicine themed one.  The diapers I used were all kinds of crazy colors so I had to cover all the diapers in each layer.  Next time I'll buy white diapers.  I'll just post each cake as I make it.  This was made using only Stampin' Up! products so you can easily do this at home :)
Supplies:
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Tools: eyelet border punch, beautiful butterflies die, Big Shot
Accessories: Pretty in Pink 1-1/4" grosgrain ribbon (got off clearance a long time ago)

If you want more details on how to make the inners of the cake, just do a search for diaper cake recipe online and more than you'd like will pop up :)

Hopefully I'll have another one to share tomorrow :)

Here is an incredible cake designed by Kristy Copperfield.  These are cupcakes.  I wish I had seen this one before I bought my diapers.  If I had gotten white ones, I could have made this one.  The die used to make this, baskets and blooms, is retiring!

Don't forget you have 9 days to grab the retiring products :) Click on the picture to the right to see all the retiring products.  I can't wait to get the new catalog and it is coming Friday!  Please let me know if you want one.  If you are in my stamp club, you will get it for free, if not, they are $5 if you respond to me before July 1st.  They are $10 after that.

What is it with Owls?

Wondering what I have been working on?  Well, I am having a baby shower for a friend of mine and I saw these on Lynn Pratt's blog and HAD to make them!  Making 23 of them wasn't that much fun, but I hope the recipients like them.  I purchased the template from Lynn.  Here are all the different ones that Lynn has made.  I also didn't have time to go out and get the safety pins to put on the diaper, but that would have made it even better!
Supplies:
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Cajun Crazy, Basic Black
Ink: Chocolate Chip for sponging, pretty in pink marker on baby doll, pretty in pink ink for sponging big bow (I forgot)
Purchased Template (large owl, owl nose and diaper)
Tools:   Heart to Heart punch, circle from punch pack, 1-3/8" circle punch, 3/4" and 1/2" circle punch, Bird Punch for wings, curly label punch for feet, owl punch

Fun Father's Day Gift

So, as promised, here is what I do for the guys in my life every year.  It is a great way to be creative, but the end product is very masculine and perfect for any man's desk....or woman's..but we are talking Father's Day here ladies :)  It just so happens the die I use to make these gifts is retiring and is ON SALE!!!  It's our Card, Telephone & Address Bigz Clear Die.  The sale price is $14.96.  Gotta get it!!!
I use this die to make rolodex picture albums for the dads.  It's an easy way to make an album that everyone can enjoy.  The die is clear so you can cut out exactly the part of the picture you'd like to showcase.  I have done 2 different styles: the sports car version and the compact rental car version :)

Sports Car...more$$$$
Along with our Round Tab punch, you can really do great things with this little ditty :)  I also cut out white pieces using the die and wrote encouraging quotes on them about being a daddy.  Each year I go through all our photos and update their rolodexes.  I think they really look forward to it each year and it's fun to do sitting in front of the TV.  I hope you'll try this for the men in your life.  You can order this through my website.

Stamps: Best Dad Ever (summer mini)
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, and a designer paper from a few years ago :(  sorry :(
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Tools: Big Shot, Tasteful Trim Die, crop-a-dile, scoring blade on paper cutter,
Accessories: Red Eyelets (retired)

Hey everyone!  I have missed being on this chatting with you everyday.  I thought I needed to take a month off just to catch up on life after a death in the family, tornadoes and several vacations.  I'll have to say I have learned I just can't catch up so I'd better keep bloggin' cause I love it!

I just wanted to make sure you had the Last Chance List.  Everything on this list will be discontinued as of July 1st.  Then I have seen some pretty fun new products coming out in the new catty July 1st!

So, if there are any products you have to have before they go away, I'd love to help you out :)

Here is the list of retiring stamp sets, the list of retiring accessories.  Here is the list of retiring Definitely Decorative products.  I'm going to the beach next week and then I'll be back to share some more ideas with you!!
