More Peek-a-boo!

So, I haven't tried using our Peek-A-Boo die with a card yet, but I sure am enjoying making tags for all the presents I need this month....lots of bdays in my family in Dec and early Jan.
Hum...as I look in the picture...the pink doesn't go as well as I thought...but in person, it blends just enough.  I am having so much fun trying to match SU! colors with my wrapping paper.  We used to sell white wrapping paper that we could stamp on...I was so sorry to see it go.  Anyway...used my paper and some non SU wired ribbon, but tried my best to coordinate with them both.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Petite Pairs
Paper: Pretty in Pink, White, and Silver Glitter paper
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Tools: Big Shot, Peek-a-Boo die, small oval punch, 1/16 hold punch
Accessories: dimensionals, basic rhinestones, baker's twine

I am thrilled that I have found the perfect use for our new Petite Pairs Stamp Set.  I find sometimes they are just too small to use on a standard size card...but with these tags, they are GOLD!  Check this out!
PERFECTO!!!!

coloring glitter paper

Once again the blog queen, Mary Fish, did a video technique on how to color our glitter paper.  I wish I had a regular piece of silver glitter paper so you could see the difference.  This was colored with early espresso ink.  You just take a reinker and put several drops in the lid of the ink pad.  Dip your sponge or dauber in it and daub all over the glitter paper.  The ink isn't sticking to the glitter as much as it is the paper underneath it.  You will HAVE to use a heat tool to dry it b/c it takes FOREVER to dry.  I am excited to try it with other colors.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Perfectly Penned
Paper: Soft Suede, White, Spice Cake DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
Tools: small heart punch, 2-3/8" scallop punch, 1-3/4 circle punch
Accessories: dimensionals, 1/8" espresso ribbon

Here is Mary's done with Pink Pirouette.  So, a very versatile product!  It is available in red though.

Nursery Rhyme Baby Card

Let's take a break from Christmas for a minute to remember that there are tons of babies born each day...have to keep our baby card stash full!  So, here's an idea I did for a little boy.  Not one of my favorites, but maybe you will be inspired to try it and make it your own.  Of course, I was initially inspired by Mary Fish :)  I knew I had some Spice Cake buttons left over so I pulled out my color coach to match it with some other awesome colors.  I am very challenged in this area and if you are as well, you must invest in our color coach...only $10.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Nursery Times, Petite Pairs
Paper: White, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze
Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze
Tools: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Simply Scored Tool (at top and bottom of red piece), 2-3/8" scallop circle punch, 1-3/4" circle punch
Accessories: Spice Cake Buttons (GET THEM NOW BEFORE THEY ARE GONE!!), hemp twine.

Baby John Johns

Here's a fun baby card for ya!  I love these little John Johns or rompers...whatever you'd like to call them.  Like I said earlier in the week, I am having to pull from long ago so there are retired things here.  Sorry.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Birthday Bakery (retired hostess)
Paper: Rose Red, White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Rose Red
Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, 1-3/8" circle punch, smaller scallop circle punch, scallop square punch, 1-1/4" square punch, word window(for arm holes)

All in the family

In my opinion, this was one of the best sets SU! ever came up with.  It's so versatile and fun!  I have used it for so many years now that I don't have to use the Stamp-a-majig to put the heads on anymore...I do, however, use it to line up more than one person :)
Supplies:
Stamp Set: All in the Family, Family Phrases (retired:(
Paper: White, Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, I can't remember the name of the DSP :(, but it's retired too.
Ink: Black and lots of bright colors
Tools: Photo corner punch (it's retired too, but here is a video from Mary showing you how to make it w/o the punch.), 1/16" hole punch
Accessories: brad

Not detailed supplies today, but I think you get the idea.

Birthday Calendar

Did you even know we sell these?  I love these Birthday Calendars.  They are perpetual so you can reuse them every year.  The lines just have numbers on them and you put the person's name in the blank...doesn't matter what day of the week it falls on...just the date is what you need to remember.  You can really dress these up or do it simple like I did.  We have a few sets that have several different season stamps that would be perfect for this project.  I used Every Little Bit.   The calendar is very inexpesive too
and a close up!
I always write my names in with pencil...people come in and out of your life and I don't like crossing through things :)  Get you a calendar and have a blast!

Advent Calendar

Ok, this is the advent calendar we made last year..I have run out of fresh ideas for you so I'm having to dig up the past :)
I am so sorry to say I don't even remember the dimensions of this project.  I don't have it anymore.  I donated to an auction at my church :)  The DSP is from last year.  The alphabet and numbers are still in the catty, but I didn't have the letter dies at the time....wish I had!  The little tins can be found at Michaels in the wedding area and are adhered with velcro so you can pull the little cans off and then stick them back on.  The main board is actually a 12x12 canvas....hum...I think.  Anyway, you get the gist of it :)  It was fun to make!

More Christmas Gifts!

Here we are having so much fun together!!  Aren't we cute!?

Here are some more fun gifts that the girls made.

This again, was made by our overachiever, Judy :)  This is a jewelry box made using Lynn Pratt's tutorial.  You can purchase it on her blog...stampndesign.blogspot.com.  Here's the inside.  I can't wait to make it!

Here is some fun punch art made by Shatze.

 This is the diaper fold.
I wish you could see the petal cone die santa better.  That was awesome!  Then, here is Gretchen's adorable candy box.
And to round us out...Stephanie pulled out the big guns and made this incredible Stationery Kit.

Can't wait to make that too!

Then, I gave the card keeper that we made at convention.  I think it went over well :)
So, that's our fun group!  We'll do it again in March and do an Easter Theme.  You could come...just let me know when I can sign you up!

Southern Inkerbelles' Christmas Party

I LOVE being with my inkerbelles!  They are a hoot in so many ways!  We did a dirty santa exchange and the gifts were beyond beautiful!  Here are a few!  I'll share some more tomorrow.

Kim made this and it is so cool!  As you can see, it folds into a little book.  You pull the button up to open the ornament and then slide the button down to tighten the opened ornament!

Our newest member, Caren, made this beautiful tree jar!  I love me some M&M's :)  Great job, Caren!

Kimmie outdid herself on this one...She embossed Dasher in gold on a window sheet.  She then rolled it up and put it through the top of the ornament.  It unravels and looks like this!  So cool!  Here is the ornament box she made using our scalloped envelope die.
Then our Paper Princess, Dominique made a beautiful flower frame.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  It was incredible!  bad picture :(  Caren, can you send me a better picture of it please?

Then our overachiever, Judy, made paper ornaments for all of us.  This is using the ornament die that SU! retired.  Very cool...and time consuming :)
That's all for today, but there is plenty more where this came from!!

My favorite Stockings

This has to be my favorite stockings card.  Still very simple, but a few little wow things here and there.  Notice the faint frame made using the simply scored tool, the silver glitter paper and the pewter embossing powder! (get geared up for scented embossing powder coming in 2012!)
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Stitched Stockings, holiday hand-penned
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, White, silver glitter (also available in red)
Ink: versamark, cherry cobbler, lucky limeade
Tools: Simply Scored Tool, heat tool, stockings builder punch
Accessories: pewter embossing powder(mini catty), dimensionals

Break from Christmas

Ok, enough Christmas for a while, eventhough Christmas is everywhere, birthdays are going on everyday and I am SURE these people don't want Christmas themed birthday cards...they feel shafted enough having to share the same birthday month....at least I know my brother feels that way...dec 24th baby :)  Love you David! (not that he ever checks my blog :)
I was very excited to use another frame embossing folder.  You almost have to tear around it since we don't have a punch that fits it and putting that in a rectangle might be too harsh....but I haven't tried them all yet.  You can also see the faint lines above and below the lace border punch made by the simply scored tool.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Perfect Punches
Paper: White, Regal Rose
Ink: Early Espresso
Tools: Big Shot, frames embossing folders, perfect polka dot embossing folder, extra wide oval punch, lace ribbon border punch, simply scored tool
Accessories: 1/8" regal rose ribbon, basic pearls, dimensionals

Love these Stockings

Here's another card I found on Mary Fish's site.  I thought it looked quick and easy.  It is bordering on too much embossing, but it was nice to do a quick card.
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Four the Holidays
Paper: Real Red, White, Silver Glitter paper
Ink: Real Red
Tools: Big Shot, snow burst and petals-a-plenty embossing folders, boho blossoms punch, owl punch (middle size circle), Stocking builder punch

The main strip of cardstock measues 1.5" x 6.5"

Just got done making 20 of these for my son's Kindergarten Christmas hand out treat :)

Peek-a-boo Frames Die

I didn't end up using this die to make an advent calendar this year even though I thought the project in the mini catalog was gorgeous.  I am into the kid advent stuff so I used the big red advent boxes we sold last year.  Drew's elf leaves legos in each box.  Very cool.  I digress.
I used this die to make the tags for my gifts this year.  Here's how it goes down.  I find a Christmas paper I like and then I come home and match it to one of our 50+ colors of cardstock.  Pool Party matched this paper perfectly!  Then, I checked with my color coach and it said that Pool Party went with Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi...Well, I couldn't make the Wasabi go on this project, but the other combo was perfect!  Then I match it with the ribbon I found at Michael's too.  Chocolate Chip and Pool Party.  It was like it was made for me!  Ok...more info than you needed to know.  Shoot, I just realized that I added the ribbon after I took this picture.  Oh well, you would have liked it :)

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Stitched Stockings, Petite Pairs
Paper: Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Pool Party, Chocolate Chip
Tools: Big Shot, Peek-a-boo frames die, striped embossing folder, stocking builder punch, 1/16" hole punch
Accessories: dimensionals, white and chocolate 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, hemp twine

Simply Scored Stocking

If you know me, I have a very hard time making a card this simple.  But, I was so excited to find it b/c I think it is so elegant.  It also gave me an opportunity to use my new simply scored tool.  Really great!  I demo'd this card at a class this weekend and sold 3 of them.  They sell themselves.  I wish you would get one!
The lines do go all the way to the bottom of the card.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Stitched Stockings
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Tools: Simply Scored tool, stockings build a punch, 1/16" hole punch, cherry cobbler baker's twine, dimensionals, white organza ribbon, dazzling details, (so detailed you can't see it in the picture, but I put a dot of it on every white dot on the stocking)
